Type description

Van Geel et al. 1981: Heterogeneous group of hyaline, spheroidal, and flattened zygospores or aplanospores, with pits all over the surface, as occurring in different genera of the Zygnemataceae and Oedogoniaceae. Similar spores were illustrated by Van Geel (1976; spore Type E) and by Van Geel and Van der Hammen (1978; Zygnema type).
