Type description

Van Geel et al. 1981: Zygospores square, 29-35 X 27-30 μm, laterally deeply concave; the broad ends of the retuse angles about 7 μm in diameter. Depression in the centre of the angles about 5 μm in diameter and 3 μm deep. The hyaline surface layer smooth.
