Type description

Van Geel et al. 1981: Zygospores square, 34-36 X 32-35 μm, laterally concave; the broad ends of the retuse angles about 5-6 μm in diameter. Depressions in the centre of the angles about 3-4 μm in diameter and 2-2.5 μm deep. The hyaline surface layer smooth.
