Type description
Van Geel et al. 1989: Spores globose, (17.5-) 25-68 (-138) μm in diameter exclusive of the hyphal attachment. Wall of small chlamydospores ca. 0.5 μm thick, that of larger ones up to 5 μm thick. Spores often partly filled with spongy tissue (former contents?).
Van Geel et al. 2003a: Chlamydospores of Glomus occurred isolated in microfossil samples, but they were also observed–in clusters still attached by mycelium–in macrofossil samples. The spores of Glomus are extremely variable in size (17–138 μm).
