Type description

Hardwood periderm, probably of Alnus or Betula, one- to multi-layered, planar, shape variable (50–100×50–100100×50–100 μm), depending on number of cell layers, light yellow to dark brown, cells triangular to hexagonal (10–30×10–20 μm). Occasional in fossil samples, frequent in Alder carr peat. Scarce to recurrent.
