Type description

Conidiospores of Phragmocephala elliptica (Berk. & Broome) S. Hughes (1979), ellipsoidal, rounded at the apex, truncate at the base, 28-34 μm long and 16-20 μm wide in the broadest part, 9-10 μm in the basal part, 5-7-septate, smooth, subhyaline to very pale brown at each end, the two central cells the largest, more pigmented, dark brown, with broad black bands at the septa, sometimes with irregular remain of the conidiogenous cell, 4-20 μm long, around the base.
