Type description

Conidiospores of Bactrodesmium abruptum (Berk. & Broome) E.W. Mason & S. Hughes (Hughes 1958), oblong-clavate, rounded at the apex, truncate at the base, brown or reddish-brown, 45-51 μm × 21 μm, 5 μm wide at the base, 4-5-septate, with black band 5.5-6 μm wide at the septum near the apex, other septa with the black bands progressively narrower toward the base; the penultimate cell is the largest of all cells.
