Type description

Gelorini et al 2011: Coenobia (cells are arranged in a single layer) globose to ovoid, hyaline to pale yellow, 30–41×25–39 μm, covered by a hyaline envelope and built from 2, 4 or 8 cells that are globose to ellipsoid, each measuring up to 10 μm; neighbouring cells connected by 5–7 long, slender processes (up to 8 μm); intercellular spaces large.
