Type description
"Oocyte smooth. Roughly "Bordeaux-wine-glass" shaped. Typical stalk -- if present -- a minimum 125 µm long, with articulation just beneath the main body, and adhesion plate at the opposite end (adhesion plate diameter generally between 40 and 60 µm). Size: Width range: 90-205 ~µm, total length range (main body incl. polar operculum): 160-300 ~µm (Harmsworth, 1968; and own measurements)." :Haas 1996
