Type description

Spores are 28–30 × 18–20 μm in size, limoniform, truncate at the base, dark-brown, with a subapical germ pore of 0.5–1 μm diameter, umbonate at the apex. The wall is 2–3 μm thick with a coarse scabrate surface. The spores resemble Zopfiella submersa Guarro, Al-Saadon, Gené et Abdullah, however its upper melanized cell is smaller (13.0–20.5 × 10–14 μm). It is possible to assume a change of the spore size due to fossilisation processes or laboratory preparations or appearance of other Zopfiella species.: Shumilovskikh et al 2017
