Type description

Van Geel 1976: Zygospores quadrate, measuring 20 µm each way, sides more or less straight. The retuse angles are about 3.5 µm in diameter: the depression in the centre of each angle is 1.8 µm in diameter and 2.2 µm deep. Small pits, about 0.8 µm in diameter, are present over the whole surface of the zygospore at a distance of about 2.5 µm from one another.
