Type description

Bakker et al. 1982: microfossils in curved rows of 8-19 cells; central cells c. 17 micron in diameter, terminal cells c. 10 micron in diameter.

van Geel et al (1983b): curved and coiled, showing a tendency towards branching; greatest diameter 35.9-99.8 µm, with 6-19 septae, each one provided with a ca. 0.9 µm wide pore. Diameter of the largest cells 11.6-16.5µm. Terminal cells often smaller, paler and broken off, rarely one rounded terminal cell present.
