Type description
Van Geel 1978: Ascospores:12-15 x 5-6 x 3-4 μm, one-celled, bilaterally flattened, with a germ slit along one side. Perithecia 270-310 x 195 μm. The upper surface covered with pointed hairs up to 45 x 3.5 μm (hairs absent in more decomposed peat).
Halbwachs et al 2021: Finely verrucose ascospore with pronounced longitudinal germ slit; 4.5x9.5 µm
