Type description

Ascospores, one-celled, ellipsoidal, 32.5–37.5 × 12.5–17.5 μm, light brown, with two protruding apical pores, ca. 2.5 um wide. Two subtypes occur: HdV-55B-1, which is smooth, while HdV-55B-2 shows Neurospora-like longitudinal grooves.
