Type description

Van Geel et al. 1981: Fungal spores ellipsoidal, one-celled, brown, 16-20 X 10-12 μm with a protruding apical pore about 1.5 μm wide. HdV 55A (see Van Geel, 1978) could be split up in HdV 55A1 (corresponding with the description of HdV 55A), and HdV 55A2 with the same morphology but of different size.
