Type description

Van Geel et al. 1989: During the analysis of the section Usselo several different spore types of Spirogyra were observed. All spores showed the characteristic ellipsoidal form and the longitudinal furrow encircling almost the whole spore. The separation of subtypes was based on the sculpture of the wall: HdV 211: vermiculate spores
