Type description

van Geel et al (1983b): Flattened, more or less isodiametrical microfossil, rhomboid in outline, 21.3-36.9 µm in diameter. Wall ca. 0.8 µm thick. The (3)4 or 5(6) edges each forming one, rarely two, thin-walled (wall ca. 0.1 µm thick) and up to 20 µm long, hyaline and sometimes dichotomously branched appendages about 1.5 µm in diameter.
