Type description

Pals et al. 1980: Mycelium dark brown, septate, (1.5) about 5 pm wide, branched. Hyphopodia borne on side branches, 10-25 micron long. Hyphopodia darkbrown, roughly circular to oval or irregular in outline, always with blunt lobes. Greatest diameter (12)20-26(39) micron. A prominent clear spot 1.8-2.8 micron in diameter in the central area, representing the point of host penetration.

Kuhry (1988): Hyphopodia irregular in outline, brown, always with blunt lobes and a prominent clear spot of ca. 2 µm diameter in the central area. Diameter: 26-22 µm. (Hooghiemstra, 1984)
