Type description

van Geel et al. 1981: Ascospores (13)15-18(21) X 6-8(14) micron. Truncate at tile basal side and tapering at the apical end. One subapieal pore ca. 0.7 micron in diameter. Sometimes with one septum, and if so, there is no constriction at the septum. Some specimens still with the hyaline appendage at the basal side.

Van Geel et al. 2003: These ascospores are 13–27 (-36) X 6–14 (-18) μm in size, truncated at the basal side and tapering at the apical end. Subapical pore is ca. 0.7 μm in diameter. Ascospores with one septum also occur, and if so, there is no constriction at the septum. The fossil spores may still have the hyaline appendage at the basal end.
